Glasgow Archaeological Society is planning a three day trip to Ireland next year, from Sunday, 18th June 2017 until Tuesday, 20th June 2017. The travel and accommodation is being arranged by Caledonian Travel, based in Glasgow.

Not many people these days have heard of Christian Maclagan (1811-1901) who lived in Stirling and is buried in the old town cemetery: she was Scotland’s first female archaeologist and she is often credited with being one of the first people to undertake modern excavation.

The coach will leave from outside the Boyd Orr Building, University Avenue at 8.30 a.m. After a brief stop en-route we should arrive at Cragside House, approximately 12 miles south of Alnwick, in time for lunch.
