We are pleased to announce the official book launch of one of our very own members Susan Hunter, who is releasing her new title, The Farmlands of Eaglesham and the Orry this week on Wednesday, October 19th 2016 at the Eglinton Arms Hotel in Eaglesham, starting at 6.30pm.

Attendees will benefit from a special launch price of £10 for the book. 

The launch will be followed at 7.30pm by Eaglesham History Society’s talk by Dr Craig Haggart of Glasgow University on ‘Conscripts; The Forgotten Men of the Great War’. The evening will finish with tea, coffee and biscuits. There will be no charge for the talk to non-members.

 

About the Author

Susan is a long-time member of GAS and has previously served as our Membership Secretary. She has also been one of our speakers for our annual lecture series. Along with her husband Robin (and with some participation by members of GAS and ACFA), Susan has spent over 20 years field walking and surveying the farmlands of Eaglesham. This has culminated in the release of her book The Farmlands of Eaglesham and the Orry. 

Susan is also a member of ACFA, has an M.A. with distinction in Ancient Civilizations at the University of Glasgow and is a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. She has also successfully completed a Diploma Course in Egyptology at Manchester University. As you see a very busy woman!
