As is usual for our December meeting, we have two members of the society speaking, and this year we have two exciting lectures on new research that we are sure will be very much of interest to GAS members (and non-members!). The lectures are:

Eddie Stewart (University of Glasgow) – To and from the Earth; (Re)collecting place in urban edgelands through the case study of Mount Vernon and Daldowie

Louisa Campbell (University of Glasgow) – Flipping the Script on Colonial Narratives: Replicating Roman Reliefs on the Antonine Wall.

The lectures will take place on Thursday, December 17th, 2020, starting at 7.30pm. Due to the current pandemic restrictions we are inviting everyone to join us via Zoom, and GAS members should have already received an email with the details on how to join the Zoom meeting. Non-members can contact Dr. Kenny Brophy at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to request them, while any queries about the lecture, or the lecture programme, can also be directed to Dr. Brophy.

In order to 'attend' the lecture you will need to download Zoom (via https://zoom.us/download) to your device (if you have not already done so), and you can join us from 7.15pm on the evening of the lecture. We would ask that you join with camera and microphone turned off and please keep your microphone off for the duration of the lecture. You will be able to un-mute if you wish to ask a question at the end.

If you would like to receive emails and updates about our lecture programme, why not become a GAS member? For information on how to become a member of Glasgow Archaeological Society, check out our Membership page.
